Passionate about history from an early age, it was easy for Scott—a firefighter and engine operator—to decide on earning a master’s in world history.

When he first tried to earn his master’s, the time constraints proved overwhelming and he put it on hold. He didn’t think there were many options left for him, but then he saw ads for online master’s degrees.

Enrolling at APU was a revelation. Scott asserts that the instructors are very knowledgeable and want students to do well. They also understand that people are working and busy.

All the history classes he took at APU helped develop his critical-thinking skills and advanced writing abilities. He finished his master’s then went on to study at Oxford University. It was a dream come true.
