Research Interests

Research Interest: 19th Century Military Medicine; Civil War Medicine; The effects of Zymotic Diseases (19th Century term), as divided in four orders-(1.) Miasmatic diseases, (2.) Enthetic diseases, (3.) Dietic diseases, and (4.) Parasitic diseases on the operational effectiveness of troops in key battles of the Civil War. Recently, expanded research interest includes 20th Century Military Medicine; World War 1; The effects of infectious diseases and their influence(s) on the outcomes of battles/war.

These research efforts resulted in a published Master's Thesis: "Silentious Enemy: Infectious Diseases and the Mississippi River Campaign, February 1862-July 1863.", with a historical journal article, and a historical fiction book development project due out in the summer and fall of 2024.
