Yes, most government positions require a background check to be completed as part of the hiring process.
Many government positions will require a Signed Authorization Release form by the applicant. APUS will provide unofficial transcripts for government entities. General employment background checks, including police departments, need to place a third party transcript order or have the applicant place an order from the ecampus account to be delivered to the prospective employer.
Background checks will be processed within 24 – 48 hours, excluding weekends
